Coach Sandra Garcia
NC Reign Coach/Shooting Specialist/Certified Personal Trainer & Nutritionist
Sandra Garcia grew up in Miami, Fl where she was one of the top prospects in her class. She is a Wake Forest graduate. In 2009 she was named to the ACC All-Freshmen Team. Her senior year she became just one of six players in school history to record 1,000 career points and 700 career rebounds. During the 2010 March, Madness 3 Point Shoot-Out Sandra took home the crown, beating out both men and women NCAA Division 1 athlete. Sandra represented her Island from 2009-2016 as the standout post player for the Puerto Rican National Team. During her 8 years playing experience, she played in the Pan American games, Centrobasket, and other national tournaments. Sandra also played professionally overseas for 8 years for Puerto Rico, Finland, Dubai, and Jordan. Her hard work and dedication to the game of basketball allowed her to play in various countries such as China, Cuba, Turkey, Amsterdam, Mexico, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Czech Republic, Serbia, and Canada.
Coach Sandra specializes in being a shooting post player. Every team needs post players with size that can dominate with their back to the basket, run the floor, and stretch the defense by being a deadly shooter. Her success inspired her to take pride in being able to teach young girls that “you don’t have to be limited just because you are a post player.” Coach Sandra will be in the gym all summer leading shooting clinics, private lessons, and coaching NC Reign girls.
Don’t miss your chance to shoot and dominate like a pro.
“I am proud to be apart of Alexis Hornbuckle Basketball and North Carolina Reign Girls AAU, and teach the fundamentals to these young girls. We are here to change the culture and get back to making hard work fun on the girls’ side. It’s important for our girls to earn everything they can so that they have the same opportunity to play in college and the pros.” — Sandra Garcia

Coach Jerome Hornbuckle
NC Reign Coach & Skills Trainer/Evaluator
Jerome Hornbuckle, the father of Alexis Hornbuckle, has coached for over 38 years in basketball. His desire has always been to be in a position where his basketball and other sports experience related to athletic development, would hopefully be an added value to a program. Alexis immediately brought him over to Jay M Robinson High School and NC Reign because she knows his value. Alexis says, “My dad taught me the game of basketball, and I turned out more than ok. God has blessed him with an eye for unforeseen talent, as well as a knowledge of the game that competes with the top coaches in the world in my opinion. If he was given an opportunity on a bigger stage to showcase his coaching style and the winning results he produces, then you would easily see he is a great coach and mentor to have. I love my dad and I’m more than happy he is a part of the team, and we can grow this program and other business opportunities together.”
